The Detox Test
Detoxification and the Healing Crisis: How do you know when you need to detox?
By now, if you've read, part one, and part two of the detox series you have a general idea of how important it is to keep your body free of excess toxicity.
As long as we continue to eat processed foods, live with excess stress, and push ourselves beyond what is good for the body, we can never hope to be completely toxin-free but we can help the body greatly to eliminate toxins before they present a health challenge. Are you still not sure whether or not you need to detox? Take this simple test to find out!
I suggest reading parts one and two before proceeding.)
Detoxification is a holistic health term for the process that happens when a toxic body seeks to return to balance by dumping toxic waste from the system. But how do you know when you really need a detox? Take this simple test to find out.
Detoxing the body from parasitic infection and colon toxicity can result in some pretty offensive breath for a few days. Keeping the breath fresh through a total body detox can be a challenge but you will find some excellent information on taming halitosis and good dental health.
Detox Test, Part One
1. Do you drink at least a gallon of pure water (not tap) per 100 pounds of body weight, daily?
2. Do you eat at least 80% raw foods, if under 40 years old and 100% raw foods if over 40 years of age?
3. Do you have two to three good bowel movements every day? (Read "good" to mean substantial, softly formed, honey-colored stool that can be passed without straining, quickly).
4. Do you totally avoid white flour products, hydrogenated oils, refined sugar, MSG and aspartame?
If the answer to even one of the above questions is no, you are almost certainly toxic to some degree, depending on how well your body handles excess eliminatory stress and your age.
If you answered yes to all three questions, congratulations and I want to meet you because you'll be the first! Even if you did answer all three of the first questions with a yes, please proceed to the next round of questions, which are:
Detox Test, Part Two
1. Do you have pets who live inside but go outside, even occasionally?
2. Do you ever walk outside barefoot where any type of animal has played?
3. Do you ever eat salads that have not been thoroughly cleaned, or eaten salads somewhere outside the home where you did not personally clean the greens?
4. Do you ever eat less than well done meats, particularly pork or beef?
5. Do you ever drink water from an unknown source, like at a restaurant?
If the answer to even one of the above questions is yes, you may well have parasites.
Detox Test, Part Three
1. Do you regularly experience stress at work or at home at a level you would consider taxing to your peace of mind?
2. Do you experience poor sleep on more than a very occasional basis?
3. Do you experience indigestion, gas, or bloating on a more than very occasional basis?
4. Do you suffer from yeast infections?
5. Do you suffer from more than normal fatigue?
6. Do you now or have you in the past, worked in any environment where chemicals, auto fumes, salon products or other toxic substances were in the air in your immediate work area? Particularly, have you worked near paints, acrylic nail counters, chemical factories, mechanic shops, or photo labs?
These are all emotional or environmental factors that can work against your body's ability to eliminate properly and can indirectly contribute to constipation and to internal toxicity.
For example, our body needs good sleep to repair and rejuvenate. When we do not sleep, this ability to restore the body to optimal health is greatly impaired. Also, when we have indigestion and other symptoms of improper assimilation of nutrients, it indicates that our body cannot process foods in the correct manner. This leads to toxicity very quickly within the eliminatory organs. In fact, if you experience indigestion very much at all, it's a sure sign that your body is backing up and is not able to use what you are feeding it before it begins to putrify.
A few words about constipation: As a wellness counselor, I consider constipation as much more than a nuisance or something that makes a person feel sluggish. I consider it dangerous. It is my belief that a colon that does not eliminate properly eventually poisons the entire system.

Home Remedy (for removing tape worms)
Known to Extract Adult Tapeworm, Larvae & EggsEven though there is parasite medication it's not only a hassle to take, it can make you feel very sick, plus you may have to go through this several times before you're free of parasites not to mention you still have to deal with the tests involved.
Your physician will have to determine which kind of tapeworm your dealing with, before you start taking the medication. You'll need to take a stool sample to your family physician on a monthly basis to determine if you passed the intestinal parasite. Plus, the medication only expels the adult tapeworm leaving the larvae and eggs behind. So there is a real possibility that the larvae could mature into another parasite.
The Amish Grandma I mentioned above, has become a close friend over time (the Amish don't make friends too easily with outsiders). Slowly she started to share some secrets with me. One secret she shared with me was she insists that at least once a year every family member take a milk bath. She said this is only a precaution to make sure there is no family member dealing with parasites and especially a tapeworm. I couldn't help but question this since I found this to be a bit odd, after all, they raise all their own meat and vegetables. Especially since they also have pure clean well water, and raise their own dairy cows so they can do their own milking and milk processing. After questioning her, she insisted that it's a precaution that isn't a big expense and you just never know what an animal will get into. Then she boasted that this annual ritual not only keeps her family's intestines healthy, it also helps to keep the family's skin PH balance healthy too. If you've ever seen the complexion of an Amish woman you'd know why she was bragging.
Then she told me a story of when she was a young girl growing up on the same farm she is living on now. She became very ill and her mother suspected she was suffering from a parasite. At that time they had no plumbing inside their home so her mother had her sit in a washtub filled with milk. She said as a child it was awfully hard to sit still for any period of time but she was so glad she did. She suddenly felt a tingling in her rectum and could tell something was sliding through. Her mother was right, a large tapeworm suddenly appeared along with a nest of eggs and larvae. Apparently the tapeworm smells the milk and starts slithering to it. Once it expels into the liquid it drowns.
A male friend of mine asked me if I knew of any home remedies for parasites. He had just gotten out of the Army and was adjusting to being home after spending 18 months in Korea. He wasn't sure if he was experiencing a tapeworm but said a rubber band type object was protruding from his rectum and when he'd try to pull it out it would withdraw back inside his rectum.
I told him the story of the milk bath and the Amish Grandma and he tried it, sure enough, he expelled a large tapeworm.
It's well worth a try if your experiencing any symptoms of a tapeworm, what do you have to lose? After all, you'll still be doing your skin a favor!
Most people don't have access to fresh whole milk that hasn't been processed, but it is the best to use for this milk bath. Of course the Amish usually have their own dairy farms and it's no big deal to fill a bathtub with unprocessed milk.
If you're willing to try this home remedy you're going to need 3 to 4 gallons of whole milk. Let it sit until it's room temperature. In the meantime, fill your bathtub with hot water and let it sit for awhile to heat up the tub, then drain. Add the milk and if you really need to, you can add about a quart of hot water. It's important to have enough milk that it covers your entire rectum while bending your knees. Keep your knees bent and try to relax. If you need to, read a book, light candles, play music, use anything you can to keep yourself relaxed. Once the tapeworm starts to expel from your rectum it will withdraw back inside if you tense up, it has no desire to leave its cozy home, it just smells the milk and wants to drink some. Plan on sitting at least an hour in the tub and sometimes it may take a few times before you see results. Of course the end result is when you see the tapeworm. Even then I'd suggest doing it all over again in about a week, just to make sure you expelled the larvae too.
